Dechenhöhle Iserlohn

When a railroad worker dropped his Hamme into a narrow crevice in 1868, this was the starting signal for one of the most breathtaking cave discoveries in Germany. In the same year, thousands of people visited the magical underground realm of the new cave. Further research has brought the total length of the Dechenhöhle to just over 900 m today. Numerous special events are offered: Christmas tours with music, lantern tours for St. Martin's Day, children's birthday parties, concerts, whisky tastings and the "Cave Lights" art event.

The Dechenhöhle is considered one of the most beautiful caves in Germany! Visitors can learn all about caves in the adjoining museum. Cave tours on well-developed and illuminated paths! An excursion in any weather and at any time of year. Open daily, registration required for groups!

Admission

Normal guided tour of the cave:
Adults: 10 €
Children from 3 - 15 years: € 6.50
Children's groups (from 10 persons to 15 years): 6 €
Adult groups from 20 persons: € 9
A visit to the cave museum is possible in combination with a visit to the cave. The ticket for the cave tour includes admission to the museum.
Payment by EC card is possible

Group highlights

Exclusive one-hour guided tour: The tour lasts one hour and includes a detailed explanation of the cave. Experience the darkness of the cave and examine real bear bones. On request, the tour can also be booked almost completely in the dark with flashlights (please bring your own!).
Duration 60 min. Prices: Groups up to 20 people flat rate € 270, each additional person € 9.
Individual programs
Guided tours and themed programs in the cave and museum can also be arranged individually with us outside opening hours. Catering is available for groups in the lounge if booked in advance, otherwise vending machines are available
