Winter sports the Sauerland way

Winter in the Sauerland is a very special time. This is when the snow transforms the otherwise green landscape into a true winter wonderland and the ski resorts get busy. The region can proudly call itself the "biggest winter sports paradise north of the Alps" and boasts more than 130 lifts and up to 300 hectares of slopes. This is unique in North Rhine-Westphalia and therefore attracts winter sports enthusiasts from near and far to the region.

And the 500-kilometre network of quality cross-country ski trails in the Nordic sports arena is unparalleled in the surrounding area. Of course, the lift operators in the Sauerland don't just focus on quantity, but also make regular investments to ensure that the highest quality standards always make skiing and snowboarding at its best possible.

But even the little ones get their money's worth in the Sauerland's lively winter activities. The numerous toboggan slopes promise carefree fun on the slopes. Here you can let off steam to your heart's content as you speed down the perfectly groomed slopes into the valley. And if you don't own a toboggan, you can simply hire one directly from the stations on site. It couldn't be more practical.

Winter experiences off the slopes

In addition to pure winter sports, the wintry Sauerland also offers you plenty of varied activities and cozy alternatives away from the slopes.
