Getting to know the beauty and charm of the district town of Olpe under expert guidance is the goal that Olpe Aktiv has set itself together with the city guides Andrea Arens, Marile Feldmann, Sonja Hütte and Mechthild Schulte as well as city guide Klaus Klapheck. After an impressive start in 2023, open city tours are to be offered again in 2025. Individuals or small groups can then take part in the tours spontaneously and without booking in advance. Our tour guides tell Olpe's city history and show the most beautiful sights. In addition to historical facts, there are of course also entertaining anecdotes. If you want to find out more about the 1000 lime trees, what a Pannenklöpper is or which festivals are celebrated in Olpe, you've come to the right place.
A city tour lasts around one and a half hours and starts at the market square. This year, 12 open city tours are being offered, which - with one exception due to the Street Food & Music Festival - take place on the first Friday and Sunday of every month. On Fridays the tour starts at 6 pm, on Sundays at 1 pm. The starting signal will be given on April 11 and 13, 2025. Interested parties can come to the Pannenklöpper monument on the day of the event and pay the participation fee of 5 euros on site in cash or by EC card.
For the first time, a "360° tour" will also be held as part of this series of events. The approximately one-hour tour will take place on a square in Olpe: Participants can make themselves comfortable on chairs or cushions they have brought along and learn from art historian Andrea Arens about the history of the place, its architectural development, people who have played a role here or special events that have taken place here. The first 360° tour of the market square will take place on July 6 at 13:00. Further tours are planned for Kurkölner-Platz, the Kreuzkapelle and the town hall. The format is particularly suitable for people with walking disabilities, but is also aimed at anyone who would like to get to know Olpe better in a cozy atmosphere with a picnic. Pre-registration is not necessary.
