South of Velmede on the Ostenberg is one of the Sauerland's oldest cultural and historical monuments, the "Veleda-Höhle" cave or "Hohle Stein", as it is popularly known.
The municipality of Bestwig and the village community of Velmede-Bestwig have set themselves the task of making the cave accessible and illustrating the special features of the cave and the legends and stories surrounding the cave to interested groups.
Public guided tours of the Veleda-Höhle take place regularly during the summer months. A tour lasts approx. 30 minutes.
No registration is required for the public tours!
