First Balloon Wiesn at the WIM
WIM Sunday traditionally begins with the mass launch of the balloons in the morning and then the action continues on the launch field: after a break of several years, the Sunday service will once again take place on launch field A at 10 am. "It's something special to be able to celebrate mass in the midst of an impressive backdrop and to be part of the Montgolfiade once again," explains priest Markus Gudermann.
Another highlight of the Balloon Wiesn is the tapping of the keg beer by Catharina Cramer in the morning, followed by a morning pint in the Oberbräu Biergarten - accompanied by music from the Allagen brass band. "Dirndls and lederhosen and a proper celebration together - that's what I'm particularly looking forward to at our first Ballon-Wiesn," explains owner Catharina Cramer.
And the VIP Club is also going Bavarian. "On Sunday, our VIP Club will open at 10:30 a.m. with a classic Bavarian veal sausage breakfast - served with our Warstein beers as well as the Bavarian beers from König Ludwig Schlossbrauerei Kaltenberg, of course," reports the Montgolfiade Managing Director. During the Balloon Wiesn, guests of the VIP Club will enjoy Bavarian cuisine and have a first-class view of the other highlights of the day, such as the musicians' meeting and, of course, the balloon launches in the evening.
In the afternoon, the Warstein Musicians' Meeting will once again take place on Launch Field A. In 2023, almost 600 musicians from Warstein and the surrounding area played five pieces together. "The atmosphere at the musicians' meeting is simply unique when the many music clubs and marching bands play together again. It is a special highlight for both the musicians and the spectators," summarizes Gärtner. Once again this year, five pieces of music will be played together, with the spectacle beginning as soon as the clubs march out. Interested music clubs and marching bands can register now at musikertreffen@warsteiner.com.
