The telecommunications tower stands on the ridge of the Hunau at an altitude of 793.3 meters. The tower itself is 173 m high, so it can be seen from many places on the Sauerland-Höhenflug and is an important landmark. Nature reserves and natural forest plots extend around the Hunauturm. Rare mixed beech forest, which once covered large parts of Germany, small alluvial forests and moors can be found in the nature reserve.

How to get there The viewpoint is not accessible by car. Use the hiking parking lots in Rimberg, in Bad Fredeburg in Obersorpe or Bödefeld.
