Opened in September 2006, the Vodafone radio tower, also known as the "Schomberg Tower", is a great excursion destination for the whole family.
With a total height of 65 meters, it towers into the air south of Sundern's highest point, the Schomberg (646 meters) in the Wildewiese ski area. If the tower is already impressive from below, the view from the viewing platform at a height of 30 meters is even more breathtaking, as the view is unbeatable.
On a clear day, you can look out over the northern Ruhrgebiet and the Lippe region as far as Münster, 85 km away, the Teutoburg Forest and the radio tower near Bielefeld, 90 km away. With very good visibility, you can even see the Hohe Acht at the Nürburgring in the Eifel, 118 km away, as well as the Siebengebirge over 80 km to the south.
We think it's a view that's hard to beat. So, off we go to the Schomberg tower in Wildewiese.
