Bookshop at the town hall

The Buchhandlung am Rathaus was founded in 1988 by Doris Müller and Elisabeth Schäfer. In 2005, bookseller Doris Müller retired from the business after 17 years. Elisabeth Schäfer continued to run the bookshop together with bookseller Uta Deitenberg. In 2010, the co-founder Elisabeth Schäfer retired after 23 years of management. Since 01.01.2011, bookseller Uta Deitenberg has been running the bookshop. In October 2011, the bookshop was redesigned and has since been presented in a new light. You can expect an extensive range of current books, stationery and gift items.

The bookshop team pays particular attention to children's and young adult books and the fiction section. The range is complemented by attractive gift items and stationery.

We have been organizing readings for adults and children for many years. Many authors have been our guests in recent years. Fritz Pleitgen, Doris Gercke, Willi Fährmann, Klaus Kordon, Dagmar Chidolue, Joachim Friedrich, Marliese Arold, Peter Prange and many other well-known authors have read in Finnentrop. For children, we organize picture book cinemas where the little ones can look at the illustrations on a screen while the story is read aloud.

Fast delivery: Our wholesaler has several hundred thousand titles in stock. This means that your ordered books are usually ready for collection from the bookshop by 9.00 am the next morning if you order from us by 5.00 pm.
