According to oral tradition, the Ave bell has existed in Esshoff since 1897. At the beginning of 1986, there was a growing desire in Esshoff to revive the ringing of the Angelus. Not only to reflect on the values of the past, but also to hold on to church tradition.
Ultimately, the bell tower was erected to preserve cultural values and the Angelus ringing.
