Burghaus Gransau and Drostenhof (Burgstraße)
Burgstraße
59757 Arnsberg
The Gransau castle house
(Burgstraße) was owned by the hereditary Princes of Fürstenberg-Neheim in the 15th and 16th centuries and by the Cosack family since 1763. The rear of the house was also built directly on the Neheim town wall, and its fortified character is still clearly visible from the west side.
The Drostenhof
(Burgstraße) is one of the oldest surviving buildings in Neheim and the birthplace of Wilhelm von Fürstenberg, who was the German Master of the Livonian Order in the 16th century.
Today's half-timbered building, the seat of the official drost of Neheim, dates back to the 17th century.
