It was built in 1868 by master builder Johann Barthomé in the historical style, probably to replace an older building. At the end of the choir is the Holy Sepulchre as the end point of Christ's Passion and the last station of the seven footfalls, which are attributed to the Baroque workshop of Papen.
Many people visit the chapel, come to rest there, say a prayer, light a candle and enjoy the magnificent view of the land of a thousand mountains.
