The "fire oak", an approx. 11-metre-high oak trunk, shows the history of human development in interaction with the positive and negative use of wood and fire by means of artistic carvings. It is entwined by a bronze band of fire that emerges from the ground and reaches high up into the crown. There it ends in a flame, which is visualized by metallic coloured titanium sheets.
