Water surface 200 hectares, length 6 km, width up to 1000 m, water depth up to 45 m
The following fish species can be found in the Henne Dam:
Pike (up to 15 kg), zander (up to 10 kg), lake trout (used since 1993), eel (up to 2 kg), perch (up to 2.5 kg), carp (up to 15 kg), tench (up to 3 kg), roach, bream, small vendace
Minimum sizes/closed seasons (legal in NRW):
Pike 45 cm, closed season from 15.02. to 30.04., zander 40 cm, closed season from 01.04. to 31.05., lake and brown trout 50 cm, closed season from 20.10. to 15.03., eel 35 cm, carp 35 cm, tench 20 cm
Roach, bream, vendace and perch are not subject to any restrictions.
Catch limit:No more than 3 trout per day.
Fishing practice:2 rods and a baitfish sink (1x1m)
One hour before sunrise to one hour after sunset. Night fishing permitted from 01.06. to 30.09. All bait with the exception of live bait fish. Boat fishing (with muscle-powered boats) including trolling is permitted with all fishing permit contracts at no extra charge.

Please note:The Henne dam is managed by professional fishermen of the Ruhrverband with funds from professional fishing. Their exclusive tasks are game fishing and extensive fish stocking in order to maintain and promote an attractive fish population adapted to the water.
Recommendation:Boat fishing: Pay attention to the temperature stratification of the reservoir water in summer with the main residence of the fish at depths of up to approx. 15 m.
