Gut Almerfeld
The single-storey manor house with the baroque portal decorated with coats of arms was built in 1738 according to plans by master builder Michael Spanner (Erwitte), who also built Grafschaft Abbey, the abbey building in Liesborn Abbey and the Old Town Hall in Rüthen.
Haus Almerfeld has been owned by the von Spee family since 1912.
The artist and designer Lutz Bernsau currently lives and works there. Visits to the studio, workshops and exhibition rooms are possible by appointment.
In summer, the artist opens his studio café in the courtyard of the estate under old chestnut trees. (Fri. - Sun. 14.00 - 18.00)
