In the immediate vicinity is the over 100-year-old Freisen-Leutner inn with a bowling alley and cozy rooms.
There is an old slate gallery in Helmeringhausen that was used as a shelter during the Second World War. This can be visited by arrangement with Mr. Hester. The tunnel leads about 50 m into the mountains and can be easily entered on foot.

Directions: From Winterberg: Leave the 480 in Olsberg Mitte in the direction of Meschede and drive to the Bigge church (right) Hotel Schettel (left), then turn left off the main road in the direction of Helmeringhausen and follow the road to the church in Helmeringhausen. At the left-hand bend, leave Biggen Straße straight ahead and turn into Voßbachstraße. You will then find the Hubertushaus on the right-hand side (2nd house counted from the bend).From Brilon:Follow the 480 to Olsberg Mitte and then turn off towards Meschede and continue as indicated above.From Meschede:After the Nuttlar Ende sign, leave the B7 towards Winterberg. Then drive through Bigge until you reach the Bigge church (left), Hotel Schettel (right) and turn right before the inn in the direction of Helmeringhausen. Now follow the description in point 1.
