To the east of the Liesetal-Hilmesberg FFH area rises the Hilmesberg (634 m above sea level), on the ridge of which there is a large mountain heath. The Sauerland-Höhenflug leads up to the Hilmesberg via narrow serpentines. The effort is worth it: up here you have a fantastic view far into the Medebach Bay and in late summer a sea of blooming heather awaits the hiker. Two panorama boards explain the most important landmarks to be seen. A path takes you back down into the valley before you reach the second ridge with a bench and summit cross. Here you can enjoy the view of the Bollerberg. The path around the Hilmesberg is narrow and natural. In rainy and wet weather, it is advisable to use the blue-marked bad weather variant, which circles the Hilmesberg on forest paths.
