The Humpfert Tower in Letmathe is a worthwhile excursion destination.
From the tower, which is around 15 meters high, anyone with a head for heights can enjoy a beautiful view as far as Schwerte and Dortmund.

The tower has a viewing platform at a height of nine meters with steel stairs leading up to it.

The Humpfert Tower was built in 1908 almost 300 meters above sea level and was largely financed by donations.
The third building on this site since 1891 should finally be permanent with its steel construction, as the two wooden predecessor towers fell victim to the weather.

The observation tower was originally named after the founder of the Letmathe section of the Sauerland Mountain Association, Karl Hassel. However, Humpfert - as a place and height designation - also became established for the tower.

It is a good idea to start the hike to the tower at the Letmathe sports field.

Unfortunately, the Humpfert Tower is closed to visitors until further notice.
There are structural defects that need to be remedied by a new construction.
We ask for your understanding!
