The Jägers Weinberg nature reserve near Willingen lies at an altitude of 680 meters and is characterized by a cool, damp mountain climate. Plants that are considered relics of the Ice Age, such as the Carpathian silver birch, thrive in this special climate. This tree species forms unusual shapes and gives the landscape a primeval character that transports visitors back to bygone times.

Various plants grow between the soft moss cushions of the moorland, including feverfew, marsh violets, cranberries, cotton grass and orchids.
