The Sauerland reaches its greatest heights in the Rothaargebirge region. At 843 m above sea level, the Langenberg is the highest mountain in North Rhine-Westphalia and thus towers over the much better-known "Kahler Asten" by exactly two meters. In contrast to the Kahler Asten, there is unfortunately no distant view on the Langenberg. However, there is a Rothaarsteig hammock that invites you to take a break.
The Rothaarsteig stage from Willingen to Winterberg runs over the Langenberg.
