The wreath is erected on the Aussichtsturm Langscheid memorial tower. The tower is 17 m high and can be reached via 78 steps. This means that the Advent wreath has a base of 17 m! It has a diameter of 9 m and consists of 1793 individual aluminum parts. The fairy lights have 6,500 LEDs. The 4 candles have a height of 1.55 m and a diameter of 40 cm, whereby the actual flame has a height of 55 cm. It was cast by hand (unique) from synthetic resin.
Since 2016, the wreath has been put up and taken down by an IG from the end of November to the beginning of January.
Traditionally, the popular tower blowing on the observation tower takes place on Advent Saturdays at 5 pm. The next candle is always switched on. While the tower wind players play their Christmas concert at lofty heights, the audience can get in the mood for Christmas wrapped up in thick blankets. On Christmas Eve (December 24), you can listen to the tower winds at 2 pm.
