Not far from the A45 highway is the Meinerzhagen shooting range, where shooting festivals and an annual Easter bonfire are celebrated every two years. The Schützenverein home of the Schützengesellschaft Meinerzhagen e.V. can also be rented by private individuals.
The Schützenplatz Meinerzhagen is a popular event location in the immediate vicinity of the Meinhardus Mattenschanzen, which is known for its legendary shooting festivals every two years as well as for other cultural events such as the Easter bonfire. Surrounded by a picturesque landscape, the square offers an idyllic atmosphere that attracts visitors from near and far. With spacious green areas, a well-developed infrastructure and ample parking, the Schützenplatz is the ideal location for festivals. As mentioned at the beginning, the biennial Schützenfest is particularly noteworthy, attracting many people to the town with a colorful program of parades, music and social gatherings. The square is easily accessible and offers sufficient space for events.

The entrance fees depend on the respective event (e.g. shooting festival). The Easter bonfire is free of charge and the site is open around the clock.
