The Dorte Hilleke Library and the cultural office of the town of Menden are located in the Old Town Hall. The Old Town Hall is one of the most beautiful buildings in Menden town center, built in 1912 by the Cologne government architect Moritz. It is located on the central square in Menden's town center and, together with the neighboring Vincenz Church, is a landmark of the town of Menden.
In addition to the library and cultural office, there is also a reading café on the first floor, which is open at the same times as the library. The listed building has a magnificent Art Nouveau staircase. Of historical significance is the Old Council Chamber, which is now used for events and weddings and can be visited on request. The balcony is open in summer. The Dorte Hilleke Library is freely accessible to everyone during opening hours.
