The bridge is located on the railroad line from Altenhundem (now Lennestadt) to Birkelbach (now Erndtebrück), which was opened on June 30, 1914. It is characterized by two pulpits on each side and a simple iron railing, designed in Art Nouveau style. The bridge is one of the few surviving examples of the Altenhundem-Birkelbach line.
