The historic sawmill in Remblinghausen is a real gem of a cultural monument. What is beautiful to look at here still largely works: the technology and equipment from the period between 1880 and 1936 is started up during the tour. The sawmill was built in 1809, but the first documented mention of a mill in Remblinghausen dates back to 1671.

However, its early past is shrouded in mystery. What is known is that the sawmill was technically expanded and extended step by step in the 19th century. A wheelwright's workshop was built in 1896 and the turbine house with clover and grist mill was built in 1926. From 1911 and 1917, daily work was made easier by a single-cylinder engine and a slip ring motor.
The mill operated as a general contractor until 1983. Today, in addition to the technology mentioned above, the horizontal creel, the turbine and the threshing machine, as well as the unique rake spinning mill and the "generator" from around 1901, one of the oldest power generators in the Sauerland, can be admired.
Guided tours take place every Wednesday between 14:00-17:30 without appointment. Otherwise the sawmill in Remblinghausen is only open by appointment.
