Rumbeck Monastery, a convent for women, was founded around 1190 as a branch of Wedinghausen Monastery. The monastery and part of the church burned down in 1914, but were partly rebuilt. The provost's office (1724) and guest house (1695) have been preserved from the monastery buildings
