Freistuhl memorial square
Freistuhls were appointed in the name of the king to administer justice. This was also the case in Düdinghausen.
The Freistuhl Düdinghausen was an important court of the counts of Waldeck (counts' courts) for the 8 free county villages for free farmers and nobles. From 1334 to 1663, the counts of Waldeck were the owners for most of the time.
You can find out more about the history of Düdinghausen here on the homepage.
