The parking lot is located in Meinerzhagen (place name: Schallershaus) and, in addition to the starting point in Altena, serves as the western entry point to the Sauerland-Höhenflug.
The entry point offers ample parking, seating and information boards about the Sauerland-Höhenflug and other hiking options in and around Meinerzhagen, as well as a wonderful view of the Mattenschanzen opposite. And if you can't find a parking space, there are another 100 parking spaces on the Schützenplatz just a few meters away.
