The trails start and end at St. Michael's Church and explore different themes over 3.5 kilometers and seven stations(trail 1), 7.5 kilometers and nine stations(trail 2) and 15 kilometers and eleven stations(trail 3): Path 1 is dedicated to the"Our Father" on the station boards, Path 2 to the"Psalms" and Path 3 is on the theme of"Life's journeys". The paths are intended to offer hikers/pilgrims the opportunity to reflect on themselves in addition to discovering and experiencing nature (directly on the Rothaarsteig); they offer rest and relaxation for body and soul. The theme boards take up the respective path and landscape impulses. The range of trails is complemented by the St. Michael Pilgrims' House, a self-catering house (former rectory) for groups of up to twelve people, located directly next to the church.
From the church (1st station), the path leads along Dorfstraße to the cemetery and on to the Kyrilltor gate at Bürgerwald. The 2nd stop is at the "Adam" sculpture there. Continue along the path slightly downhill to the right past the sports field to Hilbringse(3rd stop). Following the asphalted path to the left, after a longer ascent, we reach a fork in the path with a seating area, where we follow the signs "Waldroute (W)" to the right in the direction of Schinkenwirt. After approx. 1 km you will find the 4th stop at a bench. Continue along the Waldroute to the Maxstollen(5th station), from there continue past the "Schinkenwirt" inn and the "Rote Brücke" bridge to the start of the Kreuzweg, which leads to the Borberg (signposting: black R on a yellow background). The 6th station is at the beginning of the Way of the Cross. The Way of the Cross goes steeply uphill and ends at the Borberg Chapel(7th station). From there, continue along the Rothaarsteig past the wayside cross on a narrow path uphill to reach a gravel forest path. We follow this to the right. After approx. 2 km we reach the St. Antonius crossroads(8th station). Continue along the same path to the water tank and parking lot(9th station). We follow the path straight ahead and reach the "Kahle Hohle" in Petersborn. Shortly before the crossroads at Schlesierplatz, turn right onto a narrow, asphalted path that leads downhill. Above this we reach the Protestant church(10th stop) and further along the village road we reach St. Michael's Church(11th stop).
