Chapel hike in Stockum

From the parking lot in front of the Schützenhalle, first walk back to the corner of Bachstraße / Stockum Straße. Here, turn left into the street "Am Rehberg" following the ST1 hiking markings. The detour to the "Rehbergkapelle" is definitely worthwhile, so turn left again behind the nursery towards the chapel. Once at the top, enjoy the beautiful view from the forest sofa - it couldn't be more comfortable! Continue along the same path back, following the ST1 sign. Approx. 100 m after the last house, turn right up the "Wintop". This rather unspectacular mountain nevertheless offers you a beautiful panoramic view. Enjoy it from one of the many benches here. At the end of the ridge, the path descends to Dörnholthausen. Past "Markes Kreuz", it leads you to the first houses. Here you leave the ST1 hiking sign and turn left into "Wintrop" until you reach Stockum Straße. Cross this road and walk past the country inn to the small chapel of St. Martin. Follow the road "In der Ecke" until it joins the road "Am Bulsen". Now follow the ST3 sign to the Stockum sports field. You will come across some amusing sculptures along the way. At the end of the sports field, turn left and in the bend follow a narrow path without markings uphill to the "Bergmer Kapelle". This path winds its way through sparse pine forest over the ridge of the "Bergmer". Heather and blueberries are your silent companions. You can rest again at the small church, light a candle and take in the sweeping views of the landscape. The path continues straight ahead, but gradually descends and joins a small road at the cemetery. Follow this road to the church. From here, it is only a few meters to the starting point of the hike.
