Sundern Rathausplatz, Arnsberg train station
Sundern Rathausplatz, Arnsberg train station
From the town hall square in Sundern, the trail leads via the Kreuzweg up to the Hubertushöhe through the dense Arnsberg town forest and on to the "Ochsenkopf" square. After reaching the hunters' benches, you come to the so-called Seufzertal valley with its thermal spring, which has warm water in both summer and winter.
Before reaching Arnsberg, the tour leads through the so-called Nonnenkuhle - the prayers and songs of the nuns can still be heard in silence. Shortly before the destination, the Altstadt of Arnsberg, you can admire the Schlossberg of Arnsberg after a descent and ascent. The ruins and many other historic buildings paint an impressive picture. The town also has plenty of culinary delights to offer, such as the "Braubrüder" brewery in the heart of the Altstadt. After the Altstadt, the descent towards Arnsberg railroad station follows.
This tour can be combined with Tour 3 on the Waldroute to create a multi-day tour.

Information about the rescue signs on the Sauerland-Waldroute
Most hiking trails run away from towns and settlements and every hiker has thought about what would happen if an emergency were to occur. How can I be found here? Where am I anyway? Can the emergency services reach me?
In an emergency, things have to happen quickly! That's why the Sauerland-Waldroute is equipped with so-called rescue signs throughout. The green and white stickers attached to the posts of the signposts have a number that you must give when making an emergency call. This means that the emergency services know exactly where you are and valuable time can be saved.
