Over the Kreuzberg with its beautiful chapel to the Hubertusstock, a memorial stone with a rest area.
Your start for this short "mountain tour" is at the town hall in Sundern. There are plenty of parking spaces available here (parking disk). Your hiking signs are the green W of the Sauerland-Waldroute and the S3. Cross the main road in front of the town hall and follow the "Kreuzberg" road with the hiking signs W and S3 up the hill to the right. Almost at the top, leave the road and turn half-right onto the Kreuzweg, which leads you to the Kreuzberg chapel. Here you can enjoy the beautiful view. Continue straight ahead and after approx. 400m turn left to the Hubertusstock with the hiking sign S3. On May 13, 1926, the returned Sunderner prisoners of war of the 1st World War unveiled a memorial on the Westenfeld Höhe. After its destruction, it was rebuilt years later here on the Pütt, between Kreuzberg and Mönchehagen. You can rest here under old oak and beech trees. The path continues to the right and you walk a short distance on the S3 before turning right after 600m at an acute Winkeln, without any path markings. As soon as you come across the Waldroute W hiking sign again, follow it. It leads you back to the starting point of the hike on the right.
