Based on the Canticle of the Sun by St. Francis of Assisi, the Francis Trail through the Marpetal near Eslohe-Kückelheim praises the beauty of creation. After an introductory station, 8 further stations each take up a verse of the song of the patron saint of animals and encourage reflection, participation and discussion. Directions
At the starting point in Kückelheim, a slate plaque with an image of St. Francis marks the beginning of the contemplation trail. Follow the white Taukreuz (white T on a black background) along an 8 km long path over the slopes of the Marpetal through the villages of Niedermarpe and Dörmecke. Along the way, 8 stations introduce you to the Canticle of the Sun by St. Francis.

Safty guidelines
A rescue point system has been installed in the Hochsauerland district. Rescue points can be found on the information boards at junctions and on hiking signs.
