At 658 meters high, the Wilzenberg is one of the most striking mountains in the Sauerland and is not only a place of pilgrimage between Grafschaft and Winkhausen, but also a pagan cult site with visible ramparts. For this reason, it is also one of the 43 Sauerland-Seelenorte in the Sauerland-Wanderdorf. The Wilzenberg tower also offers hikers a breathtaking view over the Schmallenberg Sauerland.

The Aussichtsturm Wenden-Heid lookout tower in the Wenden district of Heid is 458 meters above sea level on one of the highest elevations in the municipality. What makes this point unique is the panoramic view as far as the Bergisches Land, over the municipality of Wenden, the heights around Olpe and the mountain ranges on the western edge of the district of Olpe across the Siegerland to the Westerwald. Simply fantastic!
The Sauerland-Stabil chair between Hallenberg, Liesen and Hesborn is a real eye-catcher. The huge wooden sculpture can be seen from afar. It offers wonderful views of bird and landscape conservation areas. An ideal place for a break before setting off on the next stage of the 250-kilometre Sauerland-Höhenflug, for example to Hallenberg.
The 35-metre-high Lörmecke-Turm near Warstein offers a breathtaking panoramic view from the Sauerland over the Arnsberg Forest Nature Park, the Haarstrang and the Westphalian Bay and, in good weather, even as far as the Teutoburg Forest. The unique building with its striking structure, made from local Douglas fir, has attracted attention throughout Europe and is a wonderful place to climb during a hike on the Sauerland-Waldroute.
One kilometer north-east of the village of the same name, the Bruchhauser Steine are located on the 727-metre-high Istenberg. A local information center with guided tours and several themed trails provide access to the protected rock area. Once at the top, visitors can enjoy a fantastic view over the region from the "First National Natural Monument in North Rhine-Westphalia".
Enjoy a unique view over the Sauerland, Waldeck region and, in good weather, even far beyond to Hessen and North Rhine-Westphalia. The visitor platform is 44 meters high or 875 meters above sea level, making it the highest vantage point in northwest Germany. You can easily reach the platform by cable car and, for the more athletic, on foot via the 241 steps of the staircase.
With a total height of 65 meters, it towers into the air south of Sundern's highest elevation, the Schomberg (646 meters), in the Wildewiese ski area. If the tower is already impressive from below, the view from the viewing platform at a height of 30 meters is even more breathtaking, as the view is unbeatable. If you want to enjoy the view yourself as part of a hike, you can experience this perfectly on a stage of the Sauerland-Höhenflug.
There is an absolute must for fans of special views not far from the MöhnetalRadweg in Warstein-Allagen. This is where the Skywalk Möhnetal is waiting to be discovered. The steel construction towers 30 meters above the Lieth steep slope and offers a unique panoramic view of the Möhnetal valley as far as the Arnsberg Forest and, on the way back, the farmland of the Soest Börde.
You can enjoy a fantastic view of the Hennesee from the so-called Ark on the SinnePfad. If you don't want to miss out on this special moment in the heart of the Sauerland, you can do so as part of a short hike along the 4.3-kilometre hiking trail and test your senses at the ten interactive stations along the way. It is 665 meters long, runs right across the Strycktal valley and offers visitors a breathtaking experience with magnificent views - the Skywalk Willingen is Germany's longest suspension rope bridge and an absolute must on any bucket list. Step by step, your heart rate rises as you approach the ticket booth and even those with a head for heights will be in awe of the view across to the other side of the valley. A visit can also be wonderfully combined with a relaxing hike or an extensive mountain bike tour through Willingen (Upland).
