Gold village route

The weekend is just around the corner and the weather is set to be great - so let's get out and spontaneously plan an adventure trip. And in our search for our next adventure, we found what we were looking for in Sauerland - more precisely in Oberkirchen near Schmallenberg. We were really taken with the Golddorf route, which is just under 16 kilometers long and has quite a few metres of elevation gain. But as they say? Challenge accepted - let's do this!

There are also plenty of photo spots along the way, as the first glance at the tour reveals. So the SLR camera is a must. I'm particularly looking forward to the sunset. It's supposed to be spectacular from the heathland on the "summer side". There were some amazing panoramic shots on Instagram under the hashtag. Simply awesome. That's why we deliberately walk the tour in the opposite direction, so that this is our highlight at the end and we only have to descend back to the village.

What I also find particularly cool is the high proportion of paths. It makes you feel like an adventurer and hiking is twice as much fun. I've already downloaded the GPX track for my smartphone, even though the signposting with the "Golden G on a red background" is supposed to be excellent. Because the tour is in the middle of the Sauerland-Wanderdorf hiking villages. They are certified as a "Quality Region Hikeable Germany".

And we have already picked out a pretty nice stopover. The rustic Vorwald estate in a valley in the middle of the dense forests has taken our fancy. Here we have an ice cream sundae as a reward for in between... you want to treat yourself to something. I'm already really excited!
