The Hochsauerlandkreis, Märkischer Kreis, Olpe Kreis, Siegen-Wittgenstein Kreis and Soest Kreis have joined forces to form the Südwestfalen region. Together, they want to tackle challenges and further develop the region as an economic area.

This is because Südwestfalen, together with the Sauerland and Siegen-Wittgenstein, is the most important leisure and travel destination in NRW and the largest nature park region in Germany. Around 1.4 million people live here. With a total of over 80,000 companies, Südwestfalen is the strongest industrial region in North Rhine-Westphalia and one of the strongest economic regions in Germany!

Ten study locations and over 150 world market leaders ensure innovative strength and lead the way in forward-looking topics. Typical for the region, people take matters into their own hands, tackle problems, work together and face challenges and crises in close cooperation between politics, business and society.
