Spring marks the start of the cycling season in the Sauerland and the region's lakes are also waking up from their hibernation more and more every day. This is the perfect time for holidaymakers to get information for their next weekend trip or a spontaneous day trip. From today, visitors to the "Fahrrad" trade fair in Essen can see for themselves the wide range of activities on offer in the Sauerland. "Germany's inspiring outdoor region" is presenting itself there until next Sunday with a joint Sauerland-Tourismus and Sauerland-Seen stand.

"The 'Fahrrad' trade fair is the perfect platform for us to present our wide range of cycling and family excursions to a broad audience," says Rouven Soyka, press spokesman for Sauerland-Tourismus, emphasizing the importance of our involvement in the Ruhrgebiet. However, sporty and ambitious riders from the mountain bike, road bike and gravel bike sectors will also find plenty of inspiration for action-packed days in "Germany's most inspiring outdoor region" at the joint stand.

The practical Sauerland-Seen booklet provides further interesting suggestions for excursions along the region's crystal-clear waters. The 32-page brochure in a handy format provides visitors to the trade fair with lots of information about the region's large reservoirs and, above all, numerous tips for activities and tours. A special highlight: thanks to the integrated folding map, you are guaranteed not to lose track of where you are when you are out and about.

With around 60,000 visitors over four days and 200 exhibitors every year, the "Fahrrad" trade fair in Essen is Germany's most popular bicycle fair for end consumers. For the tourism industry in the Sauerland, it is therefore an important fixture in the trade fair calendar in order to present itself as an ideal recreational area for the Ruhrgebiet conurbation and to attract holidaymakers to the green leisure region.
