There are always ups and downs in the Sauerland. But does a cycle tour in the region always have to be strenuous? Not at all! They lead along rivers or lakeshores or over former railroad lines. And that means they have few inclines - but are all the richer in adventure. These include, for example, the RuhrtalRadweg, which starts in the Sauerland and leads to the Ruhrgebiet. This route brings the two neighboring regions even closer together and showcases their best sides. The MöhntetalRadweg and Diemelradweg each accompany "their" namesake river, while the SauerlandRadring with its HenneseeSchleife loop runs where the railroads used to run. There are plenty of museums, excursion destinations, cafés and restaurants along the way, which is why this route is considered one of the best cycle routes for families in NRW.
