Halver

At the western edge of the Sauerland on the border to the Rhineland, Halver is located in the middle of the leisure region "Oben an der Volme". More than a third of the area is forest. Exercise is "in": 150 kilometers of marked hiking trails, a climbing forest and the huge outdoor forest pool Herpine invite you to a day visit.

Halver is the westernmost town in Südwestfalen and, together with the neighboring municipalities of Schalksmühle, Kerscheid, Herscheid and Meinerzhagen, forms the leisure region "Oben an der Volme". And it has a lot to offer vacationers and day trippers. The Waldfreibad Herpine is one of the largest open-air swimming pools in North Rhine-Westphalia. The huge water surface of more than 6000 m², water slide and playground as well as climbing wall make bathing a special experience. The adjacent climbing forest, the nature trail Eichelnkamp as well as the Trimm-Dich trail complete the offer in the recreational area Herpine.

Or you can simply enjoy the idyllic nature along the brook Halver. The nearby Aussichtsturm Karlshöhe is the starting point for several hiking trails along the fish ponds in the Herpine recreation area as well as in the Wilde Ennepe nature reserve. Another highlight is the ride on the Draisinenbahn from Oberbrügge over the Herpine to Halver. An incomparable day is rounded off with a round of miniature golf at the Karlshöhe or with a delicious Essen in the varied gastronomy. And if you are looking for further occasions for a visit, you should not miss highlights such as the funfair, the Halver autumn or the Christmas market. Because a trip to Halver is always worthwhile!
