The washerwomen's monument (bronze group - erected in 2002, Anneliese Schmidt-Schöttler) is a reminder of the meadow's former use as a Bleichewiese: Washed and repeatedly moistened pieces of laundry were placed on the clean grass in the sunlight to bleach the laundry.
