The Daelen gate takes its name from the former owners, the von Dael family.The town history museum set up in the Burghof-Museum displays exhibitions on the town and church history, copperplate engravings by Heinrich Aldegrever (1502 to approx. 1555) and the exhibition "Everyday life in the Middle Ages" on the various floors. The prehistory and early history section also includes the famous "garnet disk fibula" from the early medieval burial ground on Lübecker Ring. The last abbess's chair from the St. Walburgis monastery, finds from the Paradiese monastery and other treasures are also on display.
