It was destroyed by the weather and a lightning strike. The new cross was consecrated on September 20, 1992. The artist Jürgen Suberg created it from a single old oak trunk.

The quarry stone base with the stone slab has been preserved.

The Way of the Cross with 3 stations starts at the chapel and leads to the cross via the Woltenberg road.
