The Heimathaus Plettenberg is located in the middle of the historic town center of Plettenberg. It houses a small but interesting museum that deals with the founding of the town and, above all, the industrial tradition of the town of Plettenberg. Special historical exhibitions and art exhibitions are also held in a separate exhibition area.

It is the 'headquarters' of the Heimatkreis Plettenberg association's activities. The association uses the house for meetings, gatherings, lectures and as an archive for its diverse collection of historically valuable items from industry, home and agriculture as well as its extensive collection of writings
