The Johannisborn, the oldest cultural monument in the municipality of Nachrodt-Wiblingwerde, is located just 2 minutes by car from the Sassenscheid estate, surrounded by the tranquillity of the forest by the wayside. Johannisborn was already considered a holy spring in pagan times. In Christian times, baptized children were received into the covenant of grace of the church here. Many years later, the spring water of the Johannisborn served as baptismal water for St. John's Church in Wiblingwerde. It was not until 1954 that the spring was set in quarry stone. The stone relief, which shows an early medieval baptism scene, was designed by Fritz Korte, the former principal of Wiblingwerde elementary school and a local citizen.
