Due to the increased settlement of industrial plants at the end of the 19th century, the parish grew considerably. After the First World War, the desire for a church of its own arose and a church building association was founded, which bought a suitable plot of land in 1927. However, the project did not come to fruition due to the political situation and the Second World War. After the end of the war, the number of Catholics rose sharply due to numerous settlers, especially from Silesia. The ground-breaking ceremony took place in 1946, the foundation stone was laid in 1947 and the first Catholic mass was celebrated on September 12, 1948.
