Open meadow valleys, calcareous grasslands with rare orchids, scattered limestone cliffs and rare Buchenwald forests - the "Kirchloh" hiking parking lot invites you to discover the idyllic Melbecke valley with its rare natural treasures.
Circular hiking tip through the Melbecke and Rübenkamp nature reserve: the 4.2 km circular hiking trail A13 takes you along the Fröndenberg with fantastic views and through the "Melbecke and Rübenkamp" nature reserve. The Wacholderheide with rare orchids as well as the Elspe natural stage and the Vitus Chapel, with magnificent views over the Elspe valley, make this trail very special.
Circular hiking tip Melbecketal: A fantastic panoramic view from the Raizebeil rest area near Obermelbecke awaits you on the 9.4 km long trail A15. But the varied route through meadows, fields and the protected limestone beech forests with its open rocky cliffs as well as the picturesque village of Melbecke also make the trail an experience.
Circular hiking tip around Elspe: The Kirchloh hiking parking lot is the starting point for the approximately 12.5 km hike, which will take around 4 1/4 hours - this hike over the mountains of Elspe reveals great views. On easy paths that lead through species-rich forest, the sun shines on exposed spots. Further information here.
