#deinsauerland / Neusta POIs / Kunsthaus Alte Mühle Schmallenberg

The painter and graphic artist Hermann Falke (born 1933 in Schmallenberg, died 1986 in Loibach/Carinthia) acquired the 'Röbbers Mühle' in 1974 and lovingly renovated it using local materials. Hermann Falke lived with his family in the former grain and Ölmühle (foundation walls dating back to 1265) of the Grafschaft monastery until his death. The Alte Mühle was a 'tabernacle' for him, providing him with leisure and creativity. The artist, who is buried in Loibach/Carinthia, created a significant body of work here.
