The densely wooded surroundings of Meinerzhagen are known as an interesting and varied hiking area.
Various circular hiking trails around the three beautifully situated reservoirs Fürwigge, Genkel and Lister, themed trails, nature trails or guided hikes on the long-distance hiking trail "Sauerland-Höhenflug" leave nothing to be desired for the hiker. The tourist information office has extensive and free hiking suggestions for around 300 km of marked hiking trails.
Worth seeing are the Meinhardus Mattenschanzen, the Volmequelle, the Romanesque Jesus-Christus-Kirche (Rhenish gallery basilica), the bone mill in Mühlhofe and the romantic Badinghagen moated castle.
Marvel at "Inti Huatana", also known as the "Resting Place of the Sun", the iron curtain in Meinerzhagen's town hall. Antonio Máro's work is considered the largest oil painting of the 20th century.
