The builder was very wealthy. The size of the house, the building material (graywacke and Menden conglomerate) and the number of windows provide information about his well-filled wallet. Brightness was a privilege of rich people in those days. Biggeleben also lived behind the most beautiful front door in Menden. A magnificent baroque pilaster portal made of sandstone with a segmental pediment surrounds the door leaf, which is richly decorated with carvings. However, this door leaf dates from the early 19th century and originally adorned the neighboring hotel "Zum Adler".

In the entrance area of the Biggelebenhaus from 1730, the office where business was conducted was located on the left. The living area was raised by one step. The living room on the right had a second open fireplace, emblematic of a wealthy burgher, and on the left was the kitchen. The rooms on the upper floor are decorated with representative Cologne stucco ceilings with oak leaf decorations. Since 1914, the Biggelebenhaus has housed the Menden Museum of Local History.
