In 1860, the then mine director Kleffner of the Kilianstollen created the meeting place for young and old.
Over the years, the facility fell into disrepair and only ruins remained. In 1994, the Marsberg Tourist Association began renovating the site. On September 4, 2004, the 1st construction phase, the creation of the cascades, was inaugurated. In 2008, the 2nd construction phase began with the restoration of the fountain with its spouting lion's head.
The Paulinenquelle is still a popular excursion destination.
