In westerly winds, the song of the wind violin resounds and reminds us of the destructive power of the storm Kyrill in 2007.
The standing harp and the tree harp also invite visitors to try them out and elicit soothing sounds.
The circular trail can be accessed from the Torhaus hiking parking lot. It is signposted with a black K on a yellow background. The signs at individual stations also explain the instruments in Braille.
In 2007, the Ministry for the Environment and Nature Conservation, Agriculture and Consumer Protection organized an ideas competition among the North Rhine-Westphalian nature parks, the result of which was the Klangwald. The "Klangwald" project was part of the "Mythos Wald" entry, with which the Arnsberg Forest Nature Park successfully competed and ultimately took first place.
The Torhaus hiking parking lot is the ideal starting point with plenty of parking spaces.
